Unforgettable Proposal

Vinaya had reached out to us with a non-traditional marriage proposal. Her fiancé, Shubham, had recently proposed to her and she felt so special! It was the day she had been dreaming about! She was over the moon! The idea to surprise him and make him feel special was a new one for Tee and I! This would be our first proposal with the guy being the one surprised! So how did it go down?

Proposal Tip #1 – Speak from the Heart

When planning to propose to the one you want to spend the rest of your life with the #1 thing we give is to speak from the heart! Vinaya is a planner, and she knew exactly what she wanted to say. So, she created a photo slideshow and recorded a voice over expressing her love for Shubham. She sent it over to us ahead of time so that way we could work it into the surprise…more on that in this blog. The clip started with when they met and how he made her feel so special, even through the tough times. The clip faded off with her expressing how she looked forward to their future together. He looked up from the iPad and she dropped down on one knee. We get asked all the time. Which knee should I drop down to when I go to propose. Truth is, whichever just comes naturally. Don’t overthink it!

Proposal Tip #2 – Enlist Help from Her Family or Friend

Guys, trust us! Connect with her closest friend or family member! Have a mutual friend in on the plan! In this case the friend told them that they had won a photography contest but couldn’t make it out to the session and would hate for it to go to waste! Which leads us to saying; make sure you have help from her family or even a close friend. Trust us when we say…ladies love updated photos! This is an opportunity to get all dressed up, maybe even get our hair and makeup done! Also, PRO TIP…don’t forget the nails! Proposal Tip #3 – Secure your Photographer

Trust us when we say this is the most important step…and do it quick! Following your marriage proposal, she is going to want to tell all her family and friends the great news! They are going to ask; did you get a photo of it?! We have you covered! We are a husband-and-wife team and we have been photographing proposals anywhere from surprise picnics with a bottle of champaign, flowers and a sweet treat to the simple walk down a beautiful trail. When it comes to sending out your announcements to everyone, you will want to share the moment!
